The Legs Bones
TThe main bones of the leg are the femur (thigh bone), the tibia (shin bone), and the adjacent fibula, all of which are long bones.
The patella (kneecap) is the sesamoid bone in
front of the knee.
The skeleton
has bony prominences and margins that can be felt, and some serve as anatomical landmarks that define the extension
of the leg.
These landmarks are the anterior superior iliac spine.
